In the fight to help women gain the right to vote in England, Emmeline helped establish the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) and start the Suffragette movement.
They used militant tactics and eventually gained women some voting rights in 1918. Women didn’t get the same voting rights as men until 1928.
